When planning a Disney Parks vacation, many parents enjoy reading some of their favorite stories to their children to prepare them for the magic that’s in store for them when they visit the theme parks. Storytime is often a beloved nightly ritual that additionally helps kids develop important language and literacy skills that they’ll continue to use through adulthood.

Disney in partnership with Google is making storytime a bit more magical with Google Home. Beginning today, when you read select Little Golden Books aloud, Google Home will play appropriate sound effects and music, essentially bringing the story to life as you read. To get started, simply say “Hey Google, let’s read along with Disney.”

Because Google aimed to emulate the way families actually read, you can skip ahead in the book and Google Home will recognize that you’ve done that and will adjust to match the story. If you need to pause while reading, ambient music will play until you begin reading again.

Select books that will work with Google Home include favorites such as Moana, Toy Story 3, Coco, and Jack Jack Attack, as well as classics like Peter Pan, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, The Three Little Pigs, and Mickey Mouse and his Spaceship. There is even a holiday title — Mickey’s Christmas Carol — to help families enjoy the spirit the season.

Be on the lookout for added books before the end of the year.
