Smart speakers may be coming to guest rooms at Walt Disney World, as a pilot program begins at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort.
Guests staying at the resort are being randomly selected to take part in the test, where a smart speaker in the room can be used to access information about their vacation.
As with smart speakers in the home, such as Apple’s HomePod and Google Home, guests staying at the hotel can use the speaker to access things like weather and music, but specifically for Walt Disney World, they can check park hours and bus information.
For Disney, this latest test represents a continued drive to add more technology to guests stays at Walt Disney World. Recent developments include Bluetooth room entry, Mobile Food Ordering, and continuing enhancements to My Disney Experience apps.
