NEWS: Must See Fall Favorites at Disneyland Resort

It’s officially October, the time of year when the days fall easily to shadows, and fall favorites are celebrated at the Disneyland Resort! Guests can still experience all the thrills of Halloween Time now through Oct. 31, as well as celebrate Dia de los Muertos and the everlasting bonds of family, now through Nov. 2.

In Disneyland Park, Guests are surrounded by orange joyfulness as they stroll through the cleverly carved Pumpkin Festival on Main Street, U.S.A. Pose in front of the Mickey Jack o’ Lantern for an October “must have” photo. Don’t forget to get in on the “skellebration” at Haunted Mansion, where Guests can enjoy the 20th presentation of Haunted Mansion Holiday. Guests also won’t want to miss seasonal treats like the Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich at Carnation Café or the hauntingly delicious Halloween Grey Stuff at Red Rose Taverne. Top off a wickedly wonderful time with a watch party for “Halloween Screams,” a supernatural projection and special effects show presented nightly, and enhanced with fireworks on weekend nights.*

Halloween Time is also in full swing at Disney California Adventure Park, with a family-friendly makeover in Cars Land, featuring unique décor and transformed attractions. If Guests dare, they can pay a visit at night to Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark, where creepy creatures and thrilling drops await. Also, check out the unique eats in this park before they disappear! Try a Pepper-Jack Cheese Stick at Corn Dog Castle or Oogie Boogie Macaron at Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Café.

Also at Disney California Adventure Park, the spirit of Dia de los Muertos reigns at Paradise Gardens, as it is transformed into Plaza de la Familia. This lively cultural experience honors the Mexican tradition that celebrates family and our loved ones who have been – and will forever be – part of our lives. Enjoy “A Musical Celebration of Coco” presented several times a day with songs, dance and lively mariachi music. There is also a unique photo location at the “Arbol de la Vida” or Tree of Life installation, as well as a meet and greet with Miguel and his performer. Don’t miss the arts and crafts here as well as a scrumptious sampling of multiple Mexican specialties.

Be sure to save time for some not-so-scary shopping, because no visit is truly complete without a souvenir. Choose among a wide array of Halloween items for ghouls, boys and grown-ups alike in locations throughout the Disneyland Resort.

My enthusiasm for all things Disney all started when my parents took our family to WDW for a vacation. My first trip was at age 13. Since that first time, I have made a trip to WDW almost every year from age 13. As far as I knew there was only one place to vacation! My fascination with WDW began on that first trip. I wanted to know how things at WDW operated and what made it so magical. I wanted to know details like how many people worked there and the length of the monorail track. It is that fascination that fueled my interest in WDW. Each year that my family vacationed at WDW, I learned more about WDW as they built more parks and added more attractions. I am not the average fan; I want to know all the details and I love researching the facts of WDW. I research facts through the Internet, books and DVDs. To me, the best part is to conduct research trip at WDW. After college, my father was transferred to Orlando and I moved with my parents. Seeking employment, I applied for a job at WDW. I passed the first rounds of interviews and was proud to join the Disney family as a security cast member! The job was great. It included Disney-specific training and security training before assuming four duties: driving a security vehicle, standing a post, working in a resort or walking a park or other area. Sometimes I even had special duties like working the Epcot Christmas Processional. I would escort the celebrity guests from backstage to onstage. Interestingly, every cast member is given a WDW fact book monthly to aid in answering guest questions. The pocket book contained great Disney facts that added more fuel for my thirst of Disney facts. Well, all-good things must come to end so we moved back to NJ. In the summer of 2010 I moved back to Florida I am now living in Orlando less then 15 minutes from WDW and living the dream and have fun along the way. Favorite Park – Magic Kingdom Favorite Character – Mickey Mouse Favorite restaurant – California Grill Favorite attraction – Toy Story Mania Favorite resort – Bay Lake Tower / Contempoary First time at a disney park – 1976 & have been every year since Who was on your first disney trip – My entire family Favorite disney memory – My first trip and my first trip with my kids How far do you live from disney now – 15 minutes When is your next Disney trip? – every weekend Favorite Disney Movie – Jungle Book & Toy Story
