“Heritage Days” has become an annual tradition at Disneyland Paris, drawing eager crowds to an elaborate walk-through exhibit. This year, you can experience it from the comfort of your own home.
“Heritage Days” at Disneyland Paris is part of the broader “European Heritage Days,” during which locals and tourists can enjoy castles, historical locations, museums, and monuments for free. At Disneyland Paris, guests are treated to a special exhibition filled with artistic costumes, wigs and headdresses; character marionettes; and models of iconic parade floats, for an up-close view of their detail and creativity.
This year, when international travel is off-limits and theme park attendance is restricted, Disney has brought their popular exhibit online, for everyone to enjoy.
Guests can view a superb guided video tour, which showcases the cultural and artistic elements behind the Disneyland Paris theme parks, with an emphasis on Sleeping Beauty Castle, Disneyland Park’s Discoveryland, and Walt Disney Studios Park’s Place de Rémy.
A second “behind-the-scenes of the attractions” video focuses on the costumes used to dress various Audio-Animatronics, specifically from the Pirates of the Caribbean, “it’s a small world,” Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and Phantom Manor attractions.
During the live-event “Heritage Days” (held the third weekend in September), online visitors were treated to a virtual exhibition of elaborate costumes and models from past and present shows, parade floats, and unpublished photographs, as well as a Q&A led by a show director at the resort, featuring questions submitted by viewers via the Disneyland Paris Instagram account.
Visit the Disneyland Paris at Home website for even more free entertainment, including Disney character inspired games and coloring pages, arts and crafts activities, dance and drawing video tutorials and surprising insights into the parks, plus magical video-conferencing backdrops that can also be used as your computer, smartphone, or tablet background.
You’ll even find themed recipes, such as Sleeping Beauty Cake, Pumba Nutella & Banana Milkshake, and La Ratatouille de Paul Bocuse, a tantalizing twist on the popular eggplant dish.
“Disneyland Paris at Home” is available in French, English, Italian, Spanish, German and Dutch. Be sure to check back often, as new content will be added periodically.
