Earlier today, Disney Parks, Experiences & Products held a webcast detailing the ongoing health and safety measures being taken across properties to ensure the wellbeing of guests.
Disney Parks representatives described the current measures in place across Walt Disney World Resort and its ongoing success since reopening. They highlighted their willingness to be flexible and update measures when necessary.
Throughout the conference, it was made clear that Disney officials believe Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park are ready to reopen. Representatives seemed eager for new lands and attractions to open to the public, like the Avengers Campus.
“To our California government officials, particularly at the state level, I encourage you to treat theme parks like you would other sectors and help us reopen,” said Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences & Products Josh D’Amaro. “We need guidelines that are fair and equitable, so that we can better understand our future and chart a path toward reopening. The longer we wait, the more devastating the impact will be to Orange County and the Anaheim community.”
Nearly 80,000 individuals depend on the operations of Disneyland Resort, including cast members, local suppliers, vendors and third-party businesses. Most of these employees are not working today.
“To the tens of thousands of people who rely on us for employment, with the right guidelines and our years of operations experience, I’m confident that we can restart and get people back to work,” said D’Amaro. “As you can see, we’re ready. And more importantly, it’s time.”
