A week ago, Disneyland put out a short video to help prepare guests for their visit to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. In the video, they said that select locations within the land would support mobile ordering.
Today, a new article from the OC Register states which dining locations would be getting mobile order when the land opens, and what limitations there will be when you mobile order on the planet of Batuu.
First, the restaurants that will support mobile order are Docking Bay 7, Ronto Roasters, and the Milk Stand. That means that you’ll be able to mobile order everything from Blue Milk to Moof Juice, Oven Roasted Burra Fish to Felucian Garden Spread, and everything in between.
As for the logistics, Disneyland will geofence mobile orders so you can only place an order from within Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Disney will use GPS tech to ensure that guests aren’t on Main Street USA when placing their orders. The fact that guests must have a reservation to enter the land when it opens would make it impossible for guests who try to mobile order from outside of the land to get their food without a reservation.
Guests looking to get the first ever alcoholic beverages served in Disneyland won’t be able to mobile order. All guests must order in person at Oga’s Cantina and they won’t be able to take the drinks outside of the establishment.
Also not on the list is Kat Saka’s Kettle popcorn stand. Guests will be able to find kettle popcorn here as well as the thermal detonator Coca-Cola bottles that the internet was buzzing about last month.
While this information strictly pertains to Disneyland in the context of the OC Register, it is likely that a similar list of restaurants and offerings will be available at Walt Disney World when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on August 29th.
