On our recent vacation we stayed at Disney's BoardWalk Villas where we were just a hop, skip and a jump away from Epcot's World Showcase.
While Epcot wasn't the first park I thought of when planning a day in Walt Disney World for my two year old during our spring break, since we were so close, my family and I visited World Showcase several times during the week.
We discovered the "play gardens" and climbing structures for kids, set up especially for Epcot's International Flower and Garden Festival. These bright and fun places carved out just for kids throughout Epcot, combined with the permanent Kidcot Fun Stops in each of the World Showcase pavilions, now make Epcot one of my favorite places to take my toddler.
The Backyard Play Garden near the France pavilion was our favorite. It was just for the wee ones - ages two to five. The cast members were especially diligent about making sure the age limit was adhered to. (Other play gardens are close by for ages six and up.)
Watching my little one crawl through the natural tunnels made of vines, explore a clubhouse, and fly down a nicely shaded slide into a bed of soft mulch, while I admired the exhibits of recycled bird feeders and other items with ideas to make your own "play garden" at home, was a highlight of my trip.
We also really liked the Let's Get Moving playground for ages two to five on the Imagination walkway and Pixie Hollow Fairy Garden on the walkway to Test Track.
If you are headed to Walt Disney World with little ones before May 20, I hope you have a chance to hop, skip and jump on over to Epcot and explore the colorful play gardens!
